Dr. Jad Omran, MD FSCAI, is a board-certified Interventional Cardiologist practicing at Sharp HealthCare Hospitals in San Diego, CA. In addition to staying current on the latest catheter-based therapies, Dr. Omran participates in clinical research to help push the field of interventional cardiology further. Inspired by recent advances in interventional and minimally invasive treatments and the wide variety of therapeutic options now available, Dr. Omran continues to work towards improving outcomes for his and all patients.

Education and Background
Earning his medical degree from Damascus University School of Medicine in Syria was followed by three years of Internal Medicine residency at the University of Missouri and three years of General Cardiology Fellowship. He served as Chief Cardiovascular Fellow focusing on direct patient care and clinical research.
Dr. Omran then completed a two-year interventional cardiology Fellowship at the University of California in San Diego with comprehensive training in complex and high-risk coronary, peripheral and structural heart interventions as well as mechanical circulatory support devices.
A prolific author, Dr. Omran has over sixty peer reviewed publications and regularly contributes to educational lectures. He is a physician proctor, speaker, and a consultant for multiple medical device companies. He serves on numerous national committees as an active member, including the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC). Additionally, Dr. Omran is a fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI).
